Strong Studio is a full-service design agency that has been building brands with character since 2006. From positioning to production, we flex both sides of the brain to craft thoughtful, creative solutions that raise the bar.

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Strong Studio’s nimble team includes both print and digital designers, a dedicated project manager, an art director, and Matthew Strong as the principal/creative director.

Matthew Strong

principal / creative director
o: (646) 873-7641
m: (917) 626-4701

Matthew founded Strong Studio in 2006. Prior to establishing the company, he served as the Senior Creative Director for Madison Square Garden, overseeing and creating season identities for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers as well as designs for Radio City Music Hall. He began his professional career at SME Branding where he helped develop and extend brands for the NFL, NBA and MLB.

Matthew graduated from Pratt Institute in 1999 with highest honors from the Communications Design department, where he returned five years later to teach courses in branding, thesis, and packaging.

Every year, Matthew gets out of the city and away from the studio to cycle 552 miles across New York State to raise funds for Cancer Research.

Kate Padula

art director / mama bear
o: (646) 873-7641

A Pratt alumni — and one of Matthew's former students — Kate has been with Strong Studio since 2013.

As both a designer and art director, Kate guides projects through from concept to implementation. Also nicknamed our “mother bear,” she works closely with the studio manager and our talented design staff to ensure that deadlines are met, objectives are surpassed, and workflow is efficient.

If she can be convinced to leave her laptop at home, Kate can be found on a mountaintop with her four-legged hiking corgi, Bento.

Jamie Allaire

studio manager / multitasker
o: (646) 873-7641

Jamie graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2009 and taught public education for eight years. In 2018, she switched her desk apple for the big one and became a permanent addition to the #StrongTeam. As part of Strong Studio, she helps supervise project timelines and production, trains new designers, and helps bring the team’s artistic vision to life.

If she isn’t answering the phone with a smile, she may be out collecting stamps in her passport.

Kelly Brandon

designer / puppy enthusiast

A midwestern transplant, Kelly occasionally takes a break from the screen long enough to climb walls, wander the streets in search of art galleries, and eat pizza.

Matt Poleo

designer / galactic resident

Born at a very young age, he enjoys long skates on the ice and taking photos of things. Matt prefers pronouncing acronyms as words.

Lauren Ewanyk

designer / carousel connoisseur

An Oregon original, Lauren dreams of being a panda-nanny and eating fruit all day. Having recently finished her last semester at Pratt, she dances and designs next to her plump pet cat nicknamed Puddle.

Mia Karlin-Cappello

world’s best intern

When Mia isn’t studying graphic design at the Maryland Institute College of Art, she can be found dreaming of owning a pet unicorn, exploring New York City or catching up with friends.

modern siamese

Endearing yet ultimately a little creepy, Ramen has abnormally large ears and a vocal range that rivals a teething baby. She likes string. I mean, she REALLY likes string.

Bento is a very good boy. He likes to chase balls, sticks, pigeons, and parked cars and is the best dressed pup this side of the Atlantic.
